The BEST OF Friday Style

I was recently turned on to Jane.com and haven't been able to stop checking their site daily.  On several occasions, I've spotted some deals I've gushed over, only to see them sell out in no time flat!  Lesson learned...don't dilly-dally.

Today for the BEST OF, I thought I'd share with you a few of my favorite deals going on right now at Jane.  Seriously, check them out...you'll be blown away with the deals on women's clothing, baby/kids accessories, home decor, etc.

1.  Spring Floral Kimono:  I'm obsessed with this kimono!  Such a fun spring/summer look!!! 2.  Adore Short Sleeve Tunic:  Just simply chic...comes in navy, also! 3.  Perfectly Spring Strappy Flats (black/olive):  I love the different take on these sandals (especially the ankle strap)...not your regular flats. 4.  Filigree Earrings:   Kinda a no-brainer at $4.99!  All are hand painted! 5.  Reversible Chevron Tote:   Such a perfect carry-all for anything and everything.  My fave is the gray! 6.  Pointed-Toe Flats with Leopard tip:  Super on trend and unique...I don't think I've seen any flats quite like this.

The BEST OF Friday Style Link Up

This week's BEST OF spotlight has kind of been on my mind lately because I'm currently out of my contacts prescription and have to no choice but to wear my glasses.  I don't mind it...in fact, I've been wanting to get a second pair to alternate.  Mine are from Bonlook, and I'm pretty sure I'd go back to them for a second pair.  What are your thoughts on glasses?  Would you wear them for style or necessity...or both?  I think some people are just eyewear people, you know?  They can rock it and it's totally part of their whole look, personality, and style.

The BEST OF Friday Style

To sum up all of the style posts of last year, I thought I'd pick from my own posts (my favorite looks of 2013) for today's BEST OF Friday Style.  It's so much fun looking back on these and remembering what was going on in my life when I wore the various outfits....which range from a wedding, to a blog conference, to a concert, to church, everyday, etc.  Here's to continuing attempts at being creative with my style and wardrobe.  This year, I'm going to buckle down and try to make due with what I have (don't mistake that for a promise of no shopping...let's just say not very much, alright?...hashtag-working closet).

The BEST OF Friday Style {Buffalo Plaid Edition}

Hey y'all...as promised, I'm back in the saddle with the BEST OF Friday Style today.  Thanks for hanging in there with me.  It's been an odd feeling putting together this post because it's exactly what I was in the middle of doing when I got the call last Thursday night about my dad.  I guess the good thing is that I pretty much had everything ready to go, and today's post took me almost no time at all (which is rare for the BEST OF link up).  Thank you for all your sweet comments and support...most of you don't know me in person and it was so sweet that you'd take a moment out of your day to leave a kind word....so thanks...it really touched my heart.
Okay, so knowing since last week that I wanted to spotlight Buffalo Plaid, I feel like I've seen it nearly everywhere...even more than before!  I actually looked up the history of it and technically buffalo plaid is only the red and black version...but other colors get lumped into the name as well.  I think my favorite is that J. Crew jacket in the bottom left....looks so cozy!

The BEST OF Friday Style {Tacky Christmas Edition}

Gosh this Texas weather kills me.  I was in heaven last week with our long cold spell.  And then yesterday was mid-80's, but tomorrow's low is in the 30's.  Ridiculous, no?
One Christmas, we tried to have a tacky Christmas sweater party...and I say "tried" because I was the only sweaty fool stubborn enough to wear an actual tacky sweater in a December heat wave.  But man, was that sweater great.  My mom wore it all through the 90's until I told her it was no longer acceptable...and then I promptly made a mental note to grab it for the necessary occasion. (I'm still hanging on to that baby.)
But had I had a tee like this one from Skip N' Whistle, all my problems would have been solved.  Isn't this genius?  A tacky Christmas sweater t-shirt!!!  Only a company from the south would think of this! And the unicorns are just icing on the cake!

Blakely did a little impromtu snuggle photo op with me...that girl LOVES giving out kisses and hugs for her momma.

Happy Friday y'all!  Can you believe a week from today will be November??? That's just plain crazy to me.  My mind still thinks it's mid-September at the latest.
Last night, my momma and I had a little date night of shopping and eating....I've haven't seen her much lately, so I've really missed her...it was super great.  As we were perusing through H&M, I looked around and noticed there was ZERO color.  I mean, the faintest hint of mauve-ish/burgundy maybe...but nearly everything was neutrals!  I don't normally lean towards neutrals, but they're everywhere right now, and I kind love it! (side note: I'm not a prints person either...solids all the way, man!)
Today's BEST OF Friday Style spotlights some great neutral outfits from the week...showing how muted colors of cream, gray, brown, black, and tan can give an effortlessly modern but classic vibe to any outfit.
And can I just say....my favorite pairing of neutrals is tan with gray...so chic in my opinion! What's YOUR favorite way to pair neutrals together???

The BEST OF Friday Style {GameDay Edition}

This weekend, we're taking the big girls (Tyler Bree & Riley) to Texas Tech's homecoming game and I'm am SO looking forward to it!  Not only have we not been to Lubbock in a couple of years, but this will be a nice little getaway with just our two oldest kids.  I'm already planning where I want to go eat...that's my main concern when we visit Lubbock...what old favorites are we going to visit?  There are SO many great places there to chow down!

So since college football is on my mind this week, I thought I'd do a little BEST OF for my Alma Mater...GameDay Style!  Texas Tech's colors are red and black (Go Raiders), so you'd think putting together a sprited game day outfit would be a piece of cake, right?  Well, we'll see about that...TBD.
