Austin Fun: Lady Bird Lake Boardwalk

The other night we went into town to check out the new Lady Bird Lake boardwalk that I'd heard so much about recently.  The jogging trail around the lake is 10 miles long, and before this boardwalk was built, didn't connect in some parts.

We took the horse-dog (who thankfully behaved herself with all the other four-legged animals there) and made a whole evening of it...ending the excursion with our favorite sweet treat, Gourdough's donuts.  (FYI, we got the Flying Pig, the Rattler, and the Fat Elvis.)

A couple of areas of the boardwalk jet out onto the water, which make for perfect views of downtown to the west and planes landing to the east....not to mention fun photo opps for kids who like to "jump on three".
