Life Lately + Feedback Request

 Well, you can definitely tell who's home with me during the day.

This seriously happens to me multiple times a day.  I tip-toe around to make sure the little guy hasn't broken through the gate and tumbled to his death down the stairs, only to find the two of them playing perfectly with Calico Critters.  And then, it never fails....my dang ankles crack, causing their head to whip around and immediately demand snack, to be held, go outside, or all of the above....thus ending any productivity with laundry or cleaning I thought I might achieve.

I should know better by now.

Can I ask y'all a sweet favor?

(My mom always asks for a favor that way.  Like I'm more willing to do it if she says it's "sweet".)

1. My little Christmas bow head at my girls' dance performance.

2.  Well-baby visits for two is not so much fun, but at least the waiting room is cool.

3.  It finally got cold.  Like fur cold....now that's what I'm talking about.

4.  This fella LOVES to cruise around on his miniature 4-wheeler.  He thinks he's quite the stud....which, who are we kidding?  He totally is.  A stud that needs some lessons in steering.

5.  Bundled up tight for our Target run.

6.  I won this scarf and tunic from Kiki La'Rue and just couldn't wait to wear them. Checking that scarf off my Christmas list!  Check!

That's what's been going on with us.  Getting antsy about the dwindling time to fit in all my favorite Christmas movies.  I think tonight will be Elf or Elf....

It's a tough decision.

Captured

I seriously need to print out my Instagrams....they're some of our family's most telling pictures, especially of my munchkies.  (Anyone have a recommendation for a good way to do that?)

I feel like true moments of our lives have been captured thanks to phone pics....seriously, how did we live without smart phones?  It will forever remain a mystery to me.

Life moments captured lately include...

Husband not getting home until late, so you do what you gotta do to get an outfit pic.  This momma can't wait forever to change into comfies!

 This little pistol of a girl chattin' it up with her grandmother on a completely non-toy, non-fake, totally real phone.  (I'm not sure which grandmother...maybe both at the same time?....one is probably on hold, naturally.)

The joy a white picket fence gave this guy.  Thanks to a willing aunt holding him up as he played games with the other side of the fence, which included but weren't limited to:  'Peek-a-Boo', 'King of the World', and 'How Long Can my Aunt's Muscles Last'.

Sushi date night attire.  File this under pics that didn't quality for an outfit post.

 Donning a "Kelly Wrap" in an attempt to make my 'do last in the pouring rain.  Umbrella, who?

Some Catching Up To Do

It's been a while since I did a 'week in pics'...let's catch up, shall we?

1.  I wish I had the "before" of this (black) lamp...I got it at a garage sale from a home stager.  I think it needs a new shade now to match the turquoise.

2.  Husband's old antlers I've finally conceded to put up in the house.

3.  Not without a paint job, however.

1.  This boy.  Big crocodile tears when I took my iPhone away from him.  Doesn't he know Momma can't take pictures of him when it's in his mouth?

2.  Lunch picnic in the living room watching some PBS.

3.  I caught my older girls having "quiet" time in preparation for their naps the other day....who are these kids?

4.  Cinnamon Bun Popcorn from Our Best Bites.  I think I've gushed about this legal version of crack before.  Make this NOW and don't worry about the immediate guilt after finishing it off before the day is over....it's way too good to feel guilty over.

1.  Patriotic strawberries made by my girls.

2.  Hand and foot American Flag craft...we forgot to hang this up on the 4th, so it's now on our front gate to show just how much we love our country.  :)

3.  Anthropologie hat model....I think it's my next career.  During this particular visit there, I got irritated about how much good stuff they had and how little money I had with which to buy all the good stuff....so I walked out (without the hat, of course).

4.  My sister-in-law's bridesmaid gift.  Each bridesmaid got to pick out which style in "smoky quartz" she wanted.  I can't wait to wear them!

Food and Baby

Well, this weekend isn't playing out quite how I expected it to.  I'll hopefully explain on Monday...or never....but maybe on Tuesday...or maybe not at all.  We'll see how good I am at decision making by then.

In the meantime, I'll leave a few of my Instagrams of late....

Can you see the trend lately?  Food and my baby.  I have a feeling this will continue to be a good combination throughout his life, as the boy's got an appetite!

What We've Been Up To (aka: life in iPhone pics)

1.  Road trip to wedding:

I borrowed my mother's Nars Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil in 'Cruella' and I'm now in love!  It stayed put the entire night, and the color was the perfect shade of red for me.

2. Dreamsicle ice cream at Amy's Ice Cream...an Austin gem:

My guy was just saving a bit for later on his chinny, chin, chin.  Every time I go there, I hope and pray they'll have Dreamsicle, which they rarely do...I guess it was just my our lucky day.  I even got the scoop (ha, pun intended) on how to make it!

3.  Outfit planning:

Early stages of packing for our what-was-I-thinking-driving-halfway-across-the-country-with-four-kids trip.

4.  Everybody loves Daddy:

This is about the only way I'd take all of my munchkies to the mall...at the same time.  We got these for the recent birthday girl.

5.  Soccer spectating at it's best:

We went to our niece's soccer game last weekend and ended up knowing about half the kids (and parents) on both hers and the opposing team!  Fun surprise and beautiful soccer weather.

1.  If berries weren't so expensive these days, they would be my sole sustenance.

2.  Saturday morning sleep in.  (The slight curl of the lip gives away that he's not, in fact, sleeping in.)

3.  My two little thumb-suckers.  Boy, I've got my work cut out for me breaking this habit.

4.  My sweet boy.  If you have a son(s), read this article at your earliest convenience. I bookmarked it for reference purposes 20 years from now.

5.  Texas Style Council starts tomorrow!  I got these with my gift card c/o In Pink...they're one of the awesome sponsors.

6.  We met some friends at the park earlier this week.  I thought it would be nice to walk there, however, I accidentally took the 30 minute route (rather than 10 min), and we happened to be experiencing gale force winds that day.  Needless to say, the walk home was peachy.
