Showing Pigs, Etc.

If you've read my blog for any amount of time, you'll know I moonlight as a pig farmer's wife...Or my husband moonlights as a pig farmer.  Tomato/Tomoto.  Either way, feel free to get caught up and gain clarification here (last year's), here (baby pigs), and here (my favorite).

A few weeks ago our county's stock show was held, in which several pigs of ours were shown by youth from the area.  I don't have a whole lot to say about it, as it's not very fresh in my mind.

So I'll have to let the pictures do the talking...along with whatever commentary my brain can recall.  (I've slept since then.)
My husband's cousin showing one of our pigs.  Notice the queen and her court member serving so honorably in the background.  :)

Sisterly moment while going to check out some goats.  I'm not a fan of goats.  Maybe I'll share the story sometime of why I'm not...it's a good laugh at my expense.

My oldest and youngest girls with their uncle, intently watching the pig show.  Well, at least one of the girls is watching...the other is most likely wondering where she can gets some snacks and a juice box.  Our oldest is only a couple of years out from being able to show animals, and as it stands right now, she's not too interested.  We shall see, says her daddy.

My tired little buddy.  The upside-down inserted finger is a good indication of nap readiness.

I always like to see the steers and heifers....something about them is calming.  And kinda smelly.  But cow smell is nothing compared to pig smell, so it's hardly even noticeable to me.

One of my favorites of my two boys.  He sure loves his daddy.
I have to concur.

  1. Love this! My husband used to show, but I never did. Do y'all live near Lubbock? Just wondering since I see the Texas Tech hat. :)
