When taking holiday pictures for clients I usually reserve some of the best family shots that I don't preview on my Facebook page because I think most people want the shot to be a surprise when Christmas cards are sent out. The big reveal.
I'm no different...however, it's Hump DAAAAAAAYYYYY and I feel like sharing.
Picture taking does not bring out the best of me when it's of our family.
I turn into a bossy, critical, irritable, shouting version of myself. It's so not pretty.
And because my mom so graciously took our pictures, not once but twice (since I vetoed the first ones), and my dad helps the best he can with getting kids to smile, etc....I end up having to apologize to everyone involved after the fact.
It's very possible I may have needed a tranquilzer...not my finest moment.
Actually, next year, I've already resolved to hire our own photographer to avoid "crazy Kristen" that comes out.
Really, who is that woman!?!
Just because I'm a photographer doesn't mean it makes it easy to get family pictures myself...in fact, it's way harder because I have a critical eye. I could tell you five things off the top of my head that I'd change about the below picture
(at no fault of my mother's, mind you)...
But instead, I'll just smile and say,
Merry Christmas from The Jansens!
