It's My Life

Happy May!!!
Have y'all seen the JT meme "It's Gonna Be May"???  Made me laugh out loud.

Jenni started a genius series for this month to encourage creative, truthful blog content on a daily basis...for May at least.  I probably won't follow each and every day of the month...or maybe I will, but either way, I know I'll enjoy it and I hope you do too!

Day 1: The Story Of My Life (in 250 words or less or more...who's counting?)
...Grew up with wonderful, loving parents and a younger brother.  Super close to all my extended family.
...I was and have always had a sense of confidence, security, and strength about me that I attribute to my parents, of course.  It's something I try my hardest to pass onto my daughters, as I know those traits have made all the difference.
...I grew up camping, going to the beach, finding "secret hiding places" in the woods with my brother, fishing, swimming, etc.
...I lost my grandmother when I was 11 and often think about the milestones she missed in my life.  Thankfully, I still have my other one at the age of 31.  Er... she's not 31, I am.  If that wasn't clear.
...Played sports and cheered throughout high school....also dated the captain of the football team, who happens to be my husband. (wink, wink)
...We attended Texas Tech University together and I majored in Chemistry initially, but then ended up with degrees in Marketing and Finance.  Go figure.
...Our dating relationship went through a rocky patch in college, through which we have become closer and stronger.
...We got married the summer before my husband's second year of law school....almost 10 years after we first started dating.
...My first pregnancy was awful...I had kidney stones and hydronephrosis which caused me to have bilateral uretal stents surgery and was in pain my entire 3rd trimester.  Thank heavens for vicodin.
...Then it gets a little crazy by some standards.  We got pregnant with our second daughter when my husband was studying for the bar exam and had no job...and I was a SAHM with our first, living with his parents.  Nuts.  But it worked out.  We always say that him passing the bar (on the first try) was one of the biggest blessings in our life.
...I miscarried with our third pregnancy, and I often wonder about that baby...how life would be so different now.  How I probably wouldn't have my baby boy.
...Our third and fourth children are spaced 18 months just like our first two.  Right now in our lives, I'm feeling that closeness.
Ages 2-7.  It's a daily struggle, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
...I hope the Story Of My Life continues to hold lots of love, faith, and blessings.  I want more opportunities to serve others and to grow my testimony of the gospel.  I hope that through this little blog of mine, the story of my life just might inspire or help some one out there.

Welp.  I guess that's my life...in the most concise summary ever (I deleted a whole lot).  If you want elaborations, have questions, or any other thing I can expound upon....feel free to leave them in the comments.  :)

    1. Aw, thanks Amy. You know, having 3 is super tough too. I remember that being a hardest transistion. There's no longer a parent for each child and that's really a challenge to adapt to in my opinion. Kuddos to you for being great momma! :)

  6. I really liked getting to know you a little better. I do have a question, but I'll email you.

I didn't know you two were high school sweethearts. That is so awesome!! I love that my boys are 19 months apart. I wish that I didn't miscarry for the second time after Walker...(I would have been having a baby this week...isn't that crazy to think about?!) but I know everything works out and happens for a reason. So glad you have your 4 sweet babies...I know it's tough, though...but imagine all those grandbabies you'll have at once!!! So exciting :-)
