Holiday Link-Up Party {Part 1}

Yay!!!  It's finally time for the HOLIDAY LINKY PARTY The Farmer's Wife and I are hosting today!

Before I get into my post, I just want to recap what this link up is all about (see prompt).  This time of year, everyone is always looking for new ways to celebrate the season through style/fashion, travel, Black Friday deals, traditions, home decor, DIY crafts, keeping the holidays Christ-centered, and of course, gift giving.  What better way to not only learn new ideas and make new friends through the blogging community than to share how we make this time of year so special?

So this year, as with most, we are hitting up both sides of our families' Thanksgivings within about a 3 hour window.  Having both dinners mid-day (rather than lunch and supper), our eating strategy is a precise calculation of calories and cravings.  Okay, maybe that's pretty far from true.  Basically, we eat what we like most...but try not to be stuffed after the first one.

You see, I like my family's dressing (or do you say "stuffing"?) the best and vice-versa for my husband.  (Is anyone else like this?)  I think it's what you grew up on.  There are a few things I don't care for (broccoli-slaw anyone?), but there is NOT a single Thanksgiving dessert I don't care for.  That's where my jiggly parts get in trouble.  I've seriously never met a dessert I didn't like.  Except cheesecake....yuck.

Also, Thanksgiving has traditionally been the day we try to take our family Christmas card pictures.  Last year didn't go so well (see above)....I ended up having to make four different pictures with each of the kids individually.  Seeing as I haven't even thought as far as coordinating outfits, it most likely won't become a reality this year.  Thankfully, however, I know a little bit more about lighting this time around to avoid a squinty-eye photo like last years.  And sadly, the little mister has grown into his cheeks since then.  I could just eat him up!

So now it's time for YOU to link up!  All you have to do is make sure you're following both Amy and I, post this flashy little button on your blog, and link up below.  Easy as Pumpkin Pie.  Or Pecan.
I prefer Pecan.
