The Mother In Me

I wanted to share with you something today that's made me have a better perspective on motherhood.  I haven't had much time to read lately (mainly because when I get into a book, I go MIA for a while), but my mother gave me this little book of short stories/experiences for Mother's Day.  It's really brought to the forefront certain attributes on which I'd like to improve in my mothering abilities.

It's a compilation of reflections, anecdotes, and lessons learned from mothers of small children....in which category I definitely consider myself.  It covers topics from loss, to playing with your children, to keeping a good attitude, etc.

I highly recommend this book if you are a mother of young children, or even if you haven't yet had children.  As a matter of fact, I think it would also be great for mommas with older kids, as it can serve as a prompt for recording their own experiences and/or inspire them with their future grandchildren.

Books like these help remind me how wonderful and essential it is to keep your children closest to your heart.

And more importantly...

My highest priority.
