You know what's interesting?
The evolution of a blog. That's what.
I consider The Mrs. & The Momma a personal style and lifestyle blog with a few other things mixed in...but my blogging hasn't always been that combination. Years ago when I blogged privately, it was just about our family. Now looking back, I wish I would have made it public then. Then after my fourth child, I started the personal style part of it so that I could re-discover my own style, learn from others, and take risks...
But somewhere along the way over the past few months, I've posted a style-related post only about once a week...due to factors such as staying in my Pj's all day, husband not getting home from work in time for pictures, having other things to blog about, summertime, etc. Blah, blah, blah...excuses.
BUT! The whole reason I'm pointing this out is that when I sat down to write this blog post, I realized I had not only one, but TWO outfits to post this week! My left hand got a big high five from my right when I discovered this recent anomaly. I'm such an overachiever. (insert eye-roll here)
Yes, I still see experimenting with my style as one of my focuses of this here little blog, even if it doesn't translate in what I post everyday.
But let's be real....
My 3yo daughter loves to look at the computer with me. This morning when I was on your blog I told her that I like to look at your clothes because they are pretty. She said, "I'm looking at her necklace. I think it's pretty!" I agree. :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the bright colors. You look fab!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Great pairing with the green blouse and pink necklace! Since I started a blog I have developed a new appreciation for bloggers. The time and energy that go into one post is insane. That said, I think 1-2 outfit posts a week is great considering everything you've got going on. :)

Style of One's Own
My blog has evolved as well. This month marks 1 year of blogging and it started as more of a style blog and took turn toward what my heart is truly about - health and fitness. Now that I'm pregnant it focuses slightly more toward that angle. I love that because its our space so we can do what we want!
ReplyDeleteI just love your blog! I hope you have a blast at the conference...my goal is to attend my first one next year! Can't wait to follow along!

I think you do great as a fashion blogger even posting once a week! :) I read once that number of posts isn't the key to a successful blog (once it's rolling, that is), but consistency. And if once a week works for you, that's what counts. :)
ReplyDeleteI looove your necklace. And I wish I had known the Texas Style Council, maybe I'll join y'all next year, I'm in Houston so it's just not going to happen but sounds great!

I feel like my blog has changed a lot, too, since I've started. These Jeanie pants are incredible!!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of this outfit! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI heard about Texas Style Council a little too late to attend last year. So I hopped on that train the minute they opened registration this year! I can't wait to meet you and all the other bloggers there. Just hopefully I won't be that girl taking way too many notes and pictures trying to document it all lol. :)

Oh goodness I'm so loving this whole outfit!! It matches... but doesnt... my favorite!!! and I love reading your blog honestly so whatever you are doing and whatever you feel like doing... you go for it girl! haha... you're pretty much just fabulous and I so wish I was going to a blog conference to meet you this weekend! How cool would that be? (kinda hoping that doesn't sound incredibly stalkerish... if so... I apologize...)
ReplyDeleteI think that's the cool things about blogging...if it changes some, that's okay, because you get to blog about what you want to blog about :) Cute outfit!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing my own blog and other people's blogs evolve, so interesting and fun! Love your pants and necklace and the whole outfit obviously! Have fun at the conference that sounds so amazing!
