Newest Edition

Several weeks back we found out that some people we know are having to move across seas and can't take their 1 year old Weimaraner.  My husband called me to see if I'd be interested and I was all, "Do you even have to ask?!  Of course!"

Well, if you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen that we finally got her on Friday!

That first night was like having a newborn.
She didn't know what was going on.
Our Bichon Frise definitely didn't know what was going on.
And I had gotten the wrong type of new kennel for her.  Way to go, Kristen.

The bedtime problem was that our Bichon sleeps on the bed with us and new dog is used to sleeping in a kennel.  However, since we didn't have a kennel for her yet, we had the issue of the Bichon not being able to co-habitate the same room with the new girl.  I mean, he wasn't even having it.  At all.

We went back and forth for a long while on how to handle the sleeping situation, and somewhere around 1am after playing way too much Candy Crush, we came to a decision.  We opted to have our Bichon sleep in his kennel and since the new dog had jumped on our bed with a look of "just try and get me off of here"....

We thought we'd let her stay.

Just this once.

Cut to 6:30 the next morning.

I wake up clinging to the very edge of our king size bed with loud snoring in my ear, and promptly realize that she is full-out spooning me.

I mean head on my pillow, arm thrown across my torso, full body contact...
Spooning me!

And I don't know if I mentioned this, but girlfriend is HUGE.  I tried to get some pictures of this hilarity, but it was too dark.  I'm glad to know she appreciates the comforts of a nice bed...and a wonderful sleeping partner such as myself. (wink)

Since that first night, the adjustment has been better and better.  I'm so thrilled to have her in our family!  She's beautiful, sweet, charmingly clumsy...

And I can't wait for the many memories our family will make with her!

    1. She's a sweetie but it's been a huge change for our little dog...and the 2 year old doesn't like that she's bigger than him!
