Ear Piercing, Christmas Cards, & Keeping Christmas Christ-Centered

:::How's that for the longest post title ever?:::

1.  My soon-to-be 3 year old desires to get her ears pierced for her 3rd birthday this weekend.  We've told our girls that they can get it done whenever they want, but it would have to be their decision.  Our oldest was at 5.  Our second wants to wait until she's my age or never.  And this one is fully aware that it will "hurt just wittle bit...it be okay, Momma."  We shall see.  (Pictures to come)

2.  I ordered our Christmas cards from Pinhole Press this year.  I really like their unique designs/motifs.  This is the picture we ended up using...not the best of all of us, but I'm too lazy to get everyone all dressed up to try again, so it will have to do.  (Thanks to my Aunt Jill for her photog skills!)

3.  Make sure you're here tomorrow for a BIG giveaway going on with several different prizes!  Super excited about this one!!!

4.  Christmastime is in full effect around here.  If you follow me on Instagram (@kjansen) you've seen the home decor....on which I'm still working.  I can't find our nativity!  Also, our Elf on the Shelf arrived from the North Pole a few nights ago.  He's been with our family for three years now and our girls want to change his name....they also want him to be a girl.  I hope to get creative this year with "Elfie's" antics.  Will he be naughty or nice?

5.  Every Monday night until Christmas, we are going to have family night centered around Christ's birth.  This week, we watched a video of when Mary was visited by Angel Gabriel.

As it can be easy to get wrapped up in all the Christmas hoopla, it takes a conscious effort to keep this holiday season Christ-centered, but there are so many helpful devotionals, advents, videos, crafts, etc. to help achieve that.  I've loved getting inspiration from other blogs and Pinterest that I hope to incorporate into our family Christmas activities this year!
