My Closet

I wasn't going to say anything, BUT....

My new blog design is in the works and I am super excited about it!  I've been wanting one for a long while now, so I decided it's my birthday present to myself.  Happy early birthday, Self!

With that coming up, I'm also planning on adding a "shop my closet" page to my blog, where you can buy my clothes, shoes, etc.  Because of my shoe problem, I'll most likely have several hardly-worn, cute shoes (that don't fit me) up for sale soon.  Size 7.5 anyone?

So along those lines, I thought I'd give you a little peek into my closet.  I have things fairly organized by color, style, and season....but I'll just show a few of my favorite parts.
This is my "dressy" side of the closet (view from the door).  To get a mental picture of the whole room, my casual and winter tops plus shoes and accesories are (not pictured) to the left, my husband's clothes are under this rack pictured above, and my dresses and pants with some other shelving are to the right (also not pictured).  Yes, you read that right...my husband has one rack in our closet, while I have three.  Cry me a river.

Some of my shoe collection on shelves.  Organizing them in this fashion makes them so much easier to see, as opposed to keeping shoes in their respective boxes (as I used to do, thinking I could identify them by brand).  I also use a door shoe hanger for flats, sandals, and flip-flops.

I have two jewelry drawers in my dresser where I keep most of my jewelry, but hanging long necklaces on hooks (these were $5 at Target) keeps them from tangling and allows me to see what I have.  To the left, we use a belt rack for my husband's ties and our belts....naturally.

An organized closet is my happy place.  I can stand in there for who knows how long arranging and re-arranging things to facilitate efficiency in getting dressed for both myself and my husband.  It's also helpful to know exactly what I have to work with when pairing outfits, as well as when shopping to fill gaps in my wardrobe....but that's a whole other post, so I'll leave it at that.

I'd love more organization tips for clothing, jewelry, and shoes....
How do you organize your closet???
