Texas Bluebonnets {and DownEast Winner!}

Our bluebonnets are here!  All Texas wildflowers are gorgeous, but bluebonnets are the best.  As a kid, I would always try to open the petals just right to find the "cat's claw" in them.  (Contrary to popular belief, picking bluebonnets is not against the law.)  There are few backgrounds better for taking pictures than a field covered in these unique flowers.

I'm totally digging this new dress I was privileged to pick out from DownEast Basic's new spring collection.  I had my eye on it ever since I got their catalog in the mail because I was in dire need of a modest LBD...and this one definitely fits the bill.  I chose to style it simple this time, but can't wait to explore the many options of dressing it up, i.e. with a belt, colorful shoes, bangles, a bib necklace....lots of possibilities!  My favorite, of course, is the exposed zipper.  Oh, and the pockets.  Dresses+Pockets=True Love Forever!  The cut of the dress is very flattering for all body types, as well...which would get my vote even if that precious zipper stayed inside.
