Momma's Birthday

This is my momma....with her four grandchildren.  We went out to eat for her birthday last week and celebrated in style, as did our taste buds.

It was nuts.  Everything came out pretty much at the same time (even though some were entries and some were apps), resulting in a flurry of forks, cheese, sauces, noodles, and mussels flying around our table.  The best part was that due to my very serious condition known as "eyes-too-big-for-my-stomach" (a lifelong ailment from which I suffer), I wasn't able to eat hardly any of my meal, and therefore, was delighted when I remembered the surprise waiting for me in the fridge the next day.

I love birthday dinners.  I love making the birthday person feel special.  I love family time.  I love food.  I especially love my momma.  If I can be half the mother she is, I'll consider motherhood a success.  Happy Birthday, Mommy!
