Sure, blogging is journaling of a kind, but it's not exactly where I want share the intimate details and records of our family. And as for writing....with a pen...on paper...well, it just takes too darn long, and whenever I think about doing it, I'm already crawling into bed and don't really feel like postponing sleep....which in effect, builds up a huge queue of "things" I want to record but don't ever get around to. (sorry about that run-on)
So, I took some inspiration that I saw somewhere (probably on Pinterest), and decided to make an email account for my kids. My husband and I will be able to write to each child individually or to all of them...however we choose. And down the road, at the right time, we'll give them the password to that email account from which they can read all of our stories, advice, love notes to them. Everything.
I feel like this is a much more doable way of journaling for my family, opposed to the above methods, because of two reasons:
1.) I can type so much faster than I can write...therefore, no concern of giving myself arthritic hand cramps or taking up all of my blogging time (wink, wink).
2.) I spend a decent amount of time at my computer, so shooting frequent thoughts or experiences to my children via email will be essentially effortless for me.
3.) After thought on number 3....I can totally include pictures to them as well. Bonus!
What are some ways you like to journal??? Pictures, scrapbooks, paper and pen, blogging???
